Songa Migrational Camp South
Country: Tanzania
Destination: Serengeti National Park
Style: Tented Camp
Number of Rooms: 9
Songa Migrational Camp follows in the path of the Great Migration, locating twice yearly between the northern and southern Serengeti. Guests are granted a front row seat to the procession of more than two million wildebeest, zebra and Thomson’s gazelle as they traverse across the vast grass plains.
Hundreds upon thousands of wildebeest stretch as far as the eye can see as the mega herds of the Great Migration congregate in the short grass plains for the calving season. With a prime location in Maswa Kimali, our exclusive-use protected wildlife area bordering the southern Serengeti, Songa Migrational Camp affords front-row seats to this spectacle.
Here, guests will enjoy exclusive access to the Migration – without any other tourists around. Herds of wildebeest wander around the camp, which comprises 8 en-suite tents and a family tent. Natural textiles and an earth-toned colour palette reflect the beauty of the camp’s setting, affording a closer connection to the wild surroundings. There is also the option to book one side of the camp on an exclusive-use basis.
Activities at Songa Migrational Camp’s southern location include night and day game drives with your private guide and vehicle (included in every booking) and cultural visits to a Datoga village.
