Rhino Safari Camp (RSC) established in 1999, is an intimate bush camp, nestled along the shoreline of Lake Kariba and within the Matusadona N.P. It is owner operated, small (14 beds only) and highly acclaimed for its friendly, personalised hosting and excellent guiding – providing a perfect balance of comfort and informality in the wild.
RSC is totally unfenced and as such, the wildlife frequents the camp by day and night; elephant, lion and leopard are regular visitors; as a result, we tend not to accept bookings for families with children under the age of twelve. For these same reasons, the camp is ideal for those who are looking for a real African camp experience, with all the comforts. Thanks to its unique features, it can easily be combined with a more traditional African lodge or a tented camp.
A double story central boma area for enjoying meals; sunsets; sunrises; lake views and frequent visits from elephants. The shady communal area faces the shoreline and is a perfect spot to watch the elephant families moving around the concession; at dusk the fire pit welcomes guests until the drums call for dinner.
The recently refurbished boma area to welcome guests and to relax therein after a walk in the bush, a boat or game drive; it is also an ideal area to organise a private dinner upon request.
Seven, elevated; wooden thatched; twin bedded; open-fronted; en-suite bedroom chalets follow the shoreline. The chalets have been built like the BaTonga palafitta, (traditional stilted huts on mopane poles), for natural ventilation during the summer days and as a protection from animals, Zambezi floods and humidity.
The rooms are open fronted and the fact that the breeze blows from the lake inland, results in ‘natural ventilation’ making air-conditioning unnecessary. Guests have the opportunity to enjoy viewing wild life from theur elevated bedrooms
At Rhino Safari Camp we offer game drives; walks; photographic safaris; birding; boat cruises; and fishing excursions on Lake Kariba. For safari enthusiasts, RSC offers the option of the unique experience of walking and tracking wildlife under the guidance of a Professional Guide and a Tracker. Breakfast, brunch or sundowners, all memorable experiences in the bush.
RSC is a rustic camp which offers a genuine safari experience.

The landscape is punctuated by the black basalt gorge, where the rapids of the Zambezi River froth 140 meters below the edge. The ‘Smoke That Thunders’ hangs like a heavy white cloud above the treetops on the horizon. A closer look reveals the canvas suites and main area, blending in seamlessly with the environment on the banks of the Masuwe River. This is a destination of exceptional beauty, and The Wallow Lodge reflects the landscape.
All Wild Horizons Lodges are uniquely and thoughtfully designed to have their own character, but the golden thread tying them together can be seen in Craig White’s signature style that emphasizes sustainability and space. With only 16 suites to accommodate a maximum of thirty-two guests, The Wallow Lodge is perfect for families and small groups who want to reconnect with nature and spend quality time together. Victoria Falls is a short twenty-minute transfer from the lodge, giving guests the freedom to tailor-make their experience and find a balance between the exclusivity of the bush and the excitement of Africa’s Adventure Capital.
The Main Lodge
Panoramic views of the Masuwe River form the backdrop of the main area, cleverly incorporating the unrushed rhythm of nature into the open plan design. There is an echo of the elements in the infinity pool and sunken firepit, both of which overlook the river from an expansive deck. The furniture is earthy and sophisticated, brought to life with splashes of colour. The effect is captivating yet calming and epitomizes the inherent unpredictability of Africa. The Wallow Lodge embodies the simplicity and authenticity of safari life, with a modern freshness about it.
The Suites
Enchanting and intimate, the sixteen suites are ideally situated to overlook the Masuwe River and surrounding wilderness. The imaginative use of canvas preserves the romance of yesteryear with a classic safari atmosphere, accentuated with all the modern creature comforts. Each room is raised beneath the shade of ancient riverine trees, and from this elevated vantage point, guests can enjoy uninterrupted views of the river from their private balcony. The décor is simple yet elegant with wooden furnishings and potted plants. There is a touch of ‘bush bohemia’ in the vibrant ‘chitenge’ cushion covers, ensuring an authentic translation of local culture in the decorative theme. The attention to detail strikes a perfect balance between contemporary, homely touches without detracting from the surrounding wilderness.
Shining A Spotlight On Sustainability
Wild Horizons represents the sharp edge of transformative, sustainable travel that demonstrates the value of protected wilderness areas. Sustainable technology such as solar power, environmentally friendly decking, and non-disposable products ensure that every journey leaves a light footprint on the land. At the same time, the activities create synergy between guests and the environment. For example, guests are invited to tour The Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust, located in the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary. This gives them an insiders perspective on the innovative conservation initiatives that help mitigate human-wildlife conflict, further our knowledge of keystone species, and safely rehabilitate injured wildlife. The safari experience has been reimagined beyond a wilderness experience to include community, conservation and meaningful immersion.

The untouched natural beauty of the park is sprawled over 56 000 breath taking hectares. The Zambezi National park can be explored by road, river or on foot, satisfying guests needs to experience every aspect of this natural utopia.
Old Drift Lodge speaks to the rich heritage of the area. A ‘drift or ‘ford’, is a shallow place in a river or stream where it is possible to cross safely without using a boat. Around 1898, the Old Drift (originally known as Sekutes Drift) was used as a crossing point over the Zambezi River between what was then Southern and Northern Rhodesia (today Zimbabwe and Zambia). The drift was at a point on the river, 7 kilometres above the Falls, where the river is wide but runs low enough during certain periods for safe crossing.
The main lodge area boast 360 degree views, north facing onto the Zambezi & south facing onto a water hole. Only 4.5 kilometres from the town of Victoria Falls, Old Drift Lodge is the closest lodge within the National Park to Victoria Falls. Luxury boats transport guests to our natural utopia where we are able to accommodate guests in 10 double suites and 4 family suites.
Old Drift Lodge offers family friendly accommodation, with each air-conditioned suite decorated with stylish furnishings, fitting of the bygone eras, which blend in seamlessly with the natural environment. The spacious canvas en-suite rooms all have a private lounge, indoor and outdoor showers, plunge pool and an outdoor bath overlooking the Zambezi.

The stylish furnishing and décor has been specifically selected to capture the beauty of the natural environment, retaining the authenticity of the African wilderness. The suites are equipped with air conditioners and ceiling fans, which are a welcome comfort after a day spent under the blazing African sun. There is a tea and coffee station and a well-stocked mini bar, both of which are replenished daily.
During the rainy season when the Zambezi is at peak capacity, guests are lulled to sleep by the “Smoke That Thunders” as the river gushes over the side of the cavernous gorge. This therapeutic and natural ambience is accentuated by the calls of a diverse population of bird life that nest around the camp. All suites are gorge facing, and during sunrise and sunset, the cloud of mist that hangs over the rainforest is illuminated by an array of deep colours between red and orange. While remaining mindful of the environment, The Elephant Camp strives to provide impeccable luxury accommodation and service, in unquestionably, one of the most beautiful location on earth.

Hwange National Park has among the highest diversity of animals of any national park in the world. There are more than 100 species of mammals here, including all of the Big Five, as well as over 400 species of birds. The park boasts huge herds of buffalos, and large numbers of the unusual and distinctive black sable antelope. Other animals commonly seen here include lions, zebras, giraffes, hippos, and hyenas. But Hwange is perhaps most famous for its elephants. In fact, more than 30,000 elephants live here, making Hwange one of Africa’s most important elephant sanctuaries. The park is also home to one of the last and largest remaining populations of African painted dogs. Because there are so few packs left, and their ranges are so extensive, a sighting of these remarkable hunters is a rare and memorable occasion.
From the awesome grandeur of the Victoria Falls, it’s an easy two-hour drive, or a quick 30-minute charter flight, to the seclusion of Iganyana Tented Camp. This Luxury Tented Camp is situated on a private concession just minutes from Hwange airport and Hwange National Park. We’re also right around the corner from the African Painted Dog Conservation Centre. Iganyana Tented camp is easy to get to. But, once you arrive, the rest of the world feels far away.
Tucked into a teak forest, our African Luxury Tented Camp looks out over the wide, open grass plain of a long-dry riverbed. This is, in fact, a highway of sorts. However, the only traffic on it is wildlife on their daily commute between waterholes – one of which is directly in front of Iganyana Tented Camp. Natural walkways of compacted red river sand lead to the center of the camp. Here, tall rain trees shade the large Bedouin tented dining and living area. This opens onto a large, raised wooden deck with a swimming pool, overlooking the waterhole just a stone’s throw away. Below the deck is the boma with a fire pit: the hearth and heart of the luxury camp. A low, sculptural wall of twisted acacia boughs is all that separates you from the wilderness beyond.
Our 15 large luxury safari tented accommodation have been specially designed and purpose built just for Iganyana Tented Camp. Offering 640 square feet of pure peace and privacy, all rooms have king or twin beds and en-suite bathrooms, as well as a separate dressing area, an indoor sitting area, tea and coffee making facilities, and double doors leading onto a shaded outdoor veranda. The sturdy steel-framed tents feature a double layer of canvas for additional insulation, and cool, polished cement floors topped with natural fiber rugs. The luxurious large tented rooms are elegantly furnished with lovingly restored antiques and locally crafted wooden furniture. Bathrooms are equipped with flush toilets, double vanities, and indoor showers with solar-powered hot water. Air-conditioning and electricity ensure your room is always bright, cool and comfortable. Top-quality bedding and linen guarantee a heavenly night’s sleep.
On safari at Iganyana Tented Camp, you’re free to do as much or as little as you choose. Because our game activities are optional, you don’t have to feel obliged to be busy in the bush all the time. If you like, you can spend your day simply detoxing from the stress of civilisation and sit peacefully on the deck with a book and a pair of binoculars. But it would be a shame not to experience all our game activities at least once. Each of them offers a special way to discover the beauty and wildness of Hwange up close.
Enjoy a bush lunch under the trees beside a waterhole. Here, you can watch crocodiles bask in the sun, while zebras and giraffes come cautiously to drink. Return to Iganyana Tented Camp in time for sundowner drinks and dinner. Then enjoy an evening around the fireside, reliving the special sightings of the day.

Jozibanini Camp is situated in the remote south west of Hwange National Park in a wilderness unused for nearly 20 years; only the wildlife and the Parks rangers who look after it frequent this area, once roamed by San people. This is a small, truly exclusive camp in a truly wild place, providing a unique, untamed wilderness experience.
The ecosystem here is semi-desert akin to the Kalahari in neighbouring Botswana. Ancient windblown fossil sand dunes are separated by shallow valleys where elephant paths have compacted the terrain, providing Imvelo with the opportunity for a unique experiment of game viewing by mountain bike. Imvelo is breaking new ground in Hwange in terms of the remoteness of the location and the uniqueness of the environment.
Ideally we recommend this as a two day add-on for guests from Imvelo’s other Hwange properties; Bomani, Camelthorn or Nehimba. These special guests will be looking for adventure; the day-long transfer to Jozibanini will be a ‘pump run,’ resupplying waterholes en route, providing an opportunity for guests to get involved in the incredible game water supply program that is unique to Imvelo.

Just because Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in the middle of Southern Africa doesn’t mean it lacks a coastline.
Caribbea Bay Resort is located on the shore of the lake Kariba, a sight more in keeping with the blue waters of the Mediterranean than the heart of Southern Africa. Caribbea Bay Resort, with its unashamedly Sardinian-style architecture and feel, great climate all year round and a host of water sports on hand, is a favorite playground for Zimbabweans, as well as visitors to the country.
Deliberately fashioned with a Mediterranean coast ambience, Caribbea Bay Resort is an ideal base from which to explore this unique part of Zimbabwe and enjoy a sun-filled holiday in relaxed comfort. This well-appointed resort with its 83 rooms, seven of which are suites, has so much to offer. Tours to the nearby Kariba Dam are a big attraction with guests who wish to get to know the history and traditions of the local Tonga people and the mysteries of the Nyaminyami, the Zambezi River god, and his ‘influence’ over the locals.
Sunsets on Lake Kariba are legendary, with the famous, but very brief, green flash before the sun finally disappears, a sight always to be remembered. The resort is easily accessible by road, some three and a half hours’ drive from Harare, or by air with the airport only 13kms from the resort.
